Our History

Solutions For Care, originally the Near West Suburban Council on Aging then the Berwyn-Cicero Council on Aging, was founded in 1972 in response to a growing number of older adults in our community. As we expanded and in response to a growing need for disability advocates SFC began serving both individuals 60+ as well as 18-59 who were living with a disability. As our services expanded so did our service area. SFC is now the main provider of senior and disability services for Berwyn, Cicero and Proviso Township and we are proud to celebrate our 45th year of services to these diverse and vibrant communities.
