Flu & People 65 Years and Older

People 65 years and older are at higher risk of developing serious flu complications. This increased risk is due in part to changes in immune defenses with increasing age. While flu seasons vary in severity, during most seasons, people 65 years and older bear the greatest burden of severe flu disease. The best way to protect against the flu and its potentially serious complications is with a flu vaccine.  Flu vaccines are updated each season because flu viruses are constantly changing. Also, immunity wanes over time. Annual vaccination helps to ensure the best possible protection against the flu. Click the helpful links below if you are interested in getting your flu shot.

COVID-19 and In-Home Vaccines

COVID-19 is a continuing public health emergency, and age is complicating factor for COVID-19. We just want to remind all of our partners that if you have any client in suburban Cook County who needs an initial first or second COVID-19 vaccination or a first or second booster shot, we can help. Read more about our in-home COVID-19 vaccination program at and please refer people for their COVID vaccinations. Reach out if you need any support in spreading the COVID-19 vaccine message.
