PRESS RELEASE AUTHOR: Berwyn Development Corporation
A Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC) philanthropic grant was awarded to the Solutions For Care Senior Summerfest. Solutions For Care organized the inaugural Senior Summerfest along with local organizations and businesses that serve Berwyn’s older adults. Senior Summerfest is a month-long celebration for active older adults, featuring a collection of events that take place at several locations throughout Berwyn. The goal of the program is to provide opportunities for older adults to be active, connect with fellow communities, offer connections to local businesses and resources, and reduce social isolation which will allow them to remain healthy and active in our community.
BDC Board Treasurer Nora Laureto said, “The BDC is proud to have contributed to this incredible series of events for the older adults in our community. Berwyn is diverse and filled with so many exciting events and things to do, and we thank Solutions For Care for focusing on our older adults and providing plenty of opportunities to experience and connect with their peers and the community.”
Christine Flynn, Assistant Executive Director of Solutions For Care said, “Through the BDC’s Philanthropic Grant we were able to provide recreational, health conscious and educational events that broke social isolation, offered opportunities for Berwyn seniors to stay active, and provided long-lasting memories for all participants. It is great to have an organization like the BDC that is so supportive of Berwyn older adults!”
Solutions For Care is committed to preserving the independence and dignity of all older adults and those living with disabilities, being their advocate and working to find the best available resources that lead to greater self-sufficiency and a higher quality of life.
